Well as some of you may know, the hubster and I had plans to go down to Chicago for the weekend. We left early in the morning, around 9:30 or so in hopes to get down to Chicago before noon. Off we went! We saw the most hilarious license plate on the drive down. Too good to not get a picture of! The hubster was a wonderful driver and made sure I got a picture 🙂
You may not be able to make it out, but there is a ‘2’ before NO GOD. They intended it to say ‘to know God’ but the 2 was fading. So, this completely changed the meaning and made it look like ‘NO GOD’ haha. Oh, too funny!
So we kept on driving when the hubster realized that we were close to a Chick-fil-A and asked if it’d be cool if we stopped off and grabbed one of their cookies and cream milkshakes. Um…do you have to ask?! One common love we have is our obsession with anything cookies and cream! So we definitely made the stop!
(Save some for me!) 😛
We got to Chicago right around noon and the weather got absolutely GORGEOUS! It was super cloudy and dark and drizzly the whole time we were driving but then got perfect by the time we got there! We roamed aimlessly around the city, walking wherever we decided to go! We had a wonderful time just enjoying the sunny, upper 60 degree weather!
After much roaming around (and picture taking!) we worked up an appetite! We found a nice lunch-y type place and stopped at Corner Market Cafe and got ourselves a chicken caesar salad and three lentil vegetable soup. Mmmm.
After a long afternoon of walking all over the city, we got tired out and made our way back to the hotel to rest up and refresh ourselves a bit before going to see MAROON 5!!!!! (and Owl City and Neon Trees, too! :D)
The show was absolutely AH-MAZING!!!! I was super impressed and actually really pleasantly surprised by Neon Trees’ performance. They were really dang good! And of course, Maroon 5….oh…my….gosh. Best show, ever!
The next morning, we woke up lazily and then made our way home to get some oh-so-fun things done like laundry and grocery shopping. Then we met up with the hubster’s sister and brother-in-law and went out to eat at Buck Bradley’s in Milwaukee.
Got some drinks and grub…then made our way to Turner Hall where we were seeing The White Kids U Know. Totally unfamiliar with them…had NO idea what I was getting myself into!
It was actually pretty entertaining. All in all, a good end to a fun and busy weekend! 🙂
