Well it’s been a little while since my last blog post…and I wanted to check in and do an update before the weekend, since tomorrow morning I’m flying out of Milwaukee down to Miami! The hubster and I are going to a wedding (the hubster is actually in the wedding since it’s his old college roommate who is getting married), leaving Saturday, and returning Monday afternoon. So I’ll be gone all weekend! I’m super excited! This will be my first time in Florida, plus I really just love traveling, so I’m just excited about all of it! 😀 Also, the wedding will be on a cruise ship!!! I have NEVER been on a cruise ship…so that will be a fun experience, too!
Well life has been pretty good lately. I’ve been really enjoying summer as much as I possibly can. We had a lot of heat and humidity here for quite a while, but the last few days have finally dropped in humidity and heat and we’ve been sitting really nicely at around 80 degrees and sunny! Love it! I’ve been spending a lot of really good, quality time with the hubster and my family lately, of which I’m really glad about. We’ve been having some great times together.
I’ve also made a lot of really big steps forward, as far as my mindset and mentality about my health and recovery. I’m not sure if I will fully get into the details of it all right now, but I will have a follow up post about it at the very least…because there have been some big changes to my mentality and my goals for myself..and I’d really like to share them, because they’re very exciting for me. Plus, they are really monumental for me as well. So I will delve into that when time allows. Maybe even this weekend while I’m gone I’ll take some time to write a bit while waiting at the airport.
Anyways, on to other big news in my current life! My brother, who is engaged to a girl from the Philippines, has been trying to get her to come over to the US for a while now. They have gone through a lot of work to get things in order for her to be able to come here. The process is so long and involved and intricate…I wouldn’t even know where to start. Yet my brother has been so focused and so determined and has really been putting so much into this. The process has taken months upon months. Everything had been falling into place, all the pieces were coming together. A few weeks ago was a big moment, she finally had everything all in order and was scheduled to have her exit interview at the embassy in Manila (which if approved, would be the final piece of the puzzle). Well, the day of her interview came and she ended up needing one additional copy of a certain form/document that she needed to fill out…so they sent her home in order to get another copy. By the time she came back, they told her she was too late and would have to reschedule. UGH. First of all, she and her sister had to fly from the Philippines to Manila and had to stay with some friends…which they had been with for at least a week at this point. And now, they would have to prolong their stay in Manila and try to see if rescheduling the interview would even be an option…and at what point she could possibly get in. Everything was up in the air. Yet, my brother was working so hard to do whatever he could, from half way across the world, in order to try and get a second interview scheduled soon, so that they wouldn’t have to pay an additional fee for a second interview or have to have her and her sister fly back to the Philippines, then back to Manila again at a later date. Finally, he heard something…and a new date was set for the interview.
So this Wednesday night (Thursday morning in Manila) the interview was set. Tensions were high and worries were setting in. My brother and his fiance were so hopeful that everything would be okay, that the interview would go well, and that she would be cleared to come over here, FINALLY! I told my brother to let me know how it went, as soon as he found out anything, regardless of the time! I was SO hopeful that everything would go smoothly!!! After all the hard work they had put into this and all the time they have spent getting everything in order, they both deserved this to finally go right and for her to be able to come here! So, 2 am Thursday morning, I received the news…”Just heard from her. She was approved! 🙂 I’ll mention more tomorrow. But she passed! :)” YESYESYESYESYES! I was SO happy to hear this news! Now all she needs to get is her visa, which she should be receiving next week, and she has some sort of seminar she needs to attend next week, and then from there…she’s free to come over! I can’t wait to FINALLY meet my future sister-in-law! I am so happy for the two of them!
Having her come here will be such a fun, exciting adventure! This will be the first time she will ever be in the US and everything will be so new to her! I can’t wait to get to spend time with her and show her around and get to know her! This will be such a great addition to our family 😀 I know we’re all so excited to have her come and are ready to make her feel right at home here. So that is the big news! Plus, my brother just yesterday asked me if I would like to accompany him out to LA (where Jessa, his fiance) is going to be flying into. He mentioned that we could maybe stay in LA for a couple days to check out the area together and I was totally sold! I have oodles of vacation time to use, plus I love any excuse to travel, even if it is just for a couple days! So that should be really fun!
Now I’m getting myself all set to go for the fun weekend ahead! I am SO excited and can’t wait to take a bazillion pictures and tell you guys all about it when I get back! Until next time! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! 😀
