Sometimes you just have to do the weirdest, silliest, quirkiest things for the one you care about. Scott has been having a terrible couple days. Not only did his mom’s house have a pipe burst, thereby leaving a bedroom completely soaking and having to suck up the carpet and solder the pipe back together, but his mom’s puppy, Max, decided to chew up two things that were really important to Scott from years ago, AND something went bad at work today. I felt so bad for him, he just felt so down and upset and frustrated. After work, I had planned to head over to his mom’s house to help vacuum up some of the water out of the carpet again, but decided to make a pit-stop at Walgreens on the way there. I was hoping to find something to cheer him up.
I saw HUGE stuffed animals. None really stood out to me until I saw the rhino. Now I have absolutely no idea how I came up with the idea but I guess when you care about someone and you’re trying to make them feel better, you’re capable of wonderful things. I knew he would love it, because it was weird and quirky and a bit clever, which are all things he loves. 😀

Was I the least bit embarrassed purchasing such a large stuffed rhino at the store? Nope! To make matters worse, I got a huge poster board. I was a disaster walking through that store, but I had an agenda and nothing was going to stop me! 😉 Guys, I have no idea where this came from, but I saw the rhino and this popped into my head…
Yep, I’m the biggest dork. But you know what, so is Scott. That’s one thing we share in common and we both love it. I knew he would get it.
When I got to his mom’s place, I asked if he could grab something out of my backseat for me since I had full hands coming in. 😉 He absolutely LOVED it. He totally appreciated the dorkiness and loved that I went out of my way to try and make him smile. Maybe it was a small, simple gesture, but it’s things like this that I love doing for him. He means so much to me and if I can put a smile on his face, especially after a bad day, then it makes me feel really great. I love the guy.
